Letters & Postcards
I have always loved the outdoors. Mountains most of all: sitting on a rock looking far and feeling supported by the strength of the minerals under my feet or bum. My friend Alison once told me - the world always looks different from the top.
One day in July 2024 I was sitting on this rock in Serra da Estrella and a thought came to my mind - climb every mountain. It came with such a profound clarity that in 6 weeks I bought a fully off-grid van, packed my cat Charlie and on 10th September we set off on an adventure across the old continent. Before that, we went on a 4-day test run to say goodbye to Sarah who knows every grass blade in Cumbria, and conquered Scallel Pike together.
I write postcards on IG and FB and here I write letters.
Casting for Redfin
When I asked today’s guests what they were looking to catch, they had an immediate answer: Redfin.
Fishing the Space Coast
Today, we dropped anchor off Cocoa Beach to enjoy some great fishing and a history lesson about Florida’s incredible Space Coast.
The Captain's Hat
Being the captain of a fishing charter is my dream job, but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy.
The Art of Lures
I’ve never been much of a fly fisherman, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the work of art that is a well tied lure.
Big Snook Fishing
Snook is always a fun fish to go after and we spent the day visiting a few of the locations it likes best.
The Luckiest Man Alive
I always say that every day spent on the water is the best day of my life. Here’s why I do what I do.
Sailing Out
Today, I found myself in a strange position: as a passenger on someone else’s boat.
Thinking Like a Fish
To get better at catching fish, you need to get better at thinking like one.
Casting at Sunset
After a few days of challenging weather, there’s nothing better than a beautiful sunset fishing expedition.
Every Catch Is a Good Catch
Landing a big one will always have its place, but a true fisherman or fisherwoman loves the joy of the chase more than the size of the catch.
